Even though our tablets comes with quality screens there is nothing that compares to the sound and picture on a nice big flat screen TV.
Fortunately it is not difficult to connect the tablet to a modern TV. It only requires a HDMI Cable which you can buy through IT-depot or you local computer shop. Make sure you get a cable with a mini HDMI plug for your Tablet and that your TV has HDMI in.
Open your movie in the Vortex player. You find the application in the bottom right of your home screen. touch the screen when the movie starts playing. In you the left side of the screen you will see a small TV Icon. touch that and a small meny will appear asking you ro shift to HDMI. Press OK and you favorite film is now playing on the big screen.
It might sounds difficult but it is really a 2 seconds job
It is all good that you can watch films on your TV using your Android Tablet. But what if you don't have any films on the tablet? There are many ways to do this but one way that we find very handy is to use a USB Flash Disk. This is fast and have the advantage that if your friends have some films you would like to borrow you just transfer them from their PC to your flash Disk. (We obviously do not support Piracy)
When you want to watch the film you plug in the USB Flash Disk in your Tablet and open the Vortex player. Select the film and press play. If you have saved the film in a subdirectory you first have to open that and then selct the film. An easy and fast way to watch all your favorite films.
Even though there are excellent open source word processors and spreadsheets let’s face it Microsoft Office is still the preferred office package.

There can be many reasons why you want to run a FTP server on your tablet but the most common is that you want to exchange data between your Tablet and you other IT devices over a WiFi network. Here at IT-Depot we always try to find the easiest and cheapest way to do things. Why pay for expensive software when there is great open source software out there.
To transfer data between your tablet and other WiFi enabled devices you have to have a FTP client on your Laptop or Computer and FTP server on your tablet. We recommend FileZilla for your PC or Laptop. You can read more or download it here: http://filezilla-project.org/. For the Android FTP server we recommend swiFTP which you can download for free through Android Market.
Most computers do not have a Micro SD card reader so the easy way is to buy an adapter that fits the card reader in your Laptop. But there is a smarter way if you have a 3G Modem. Many 3G modems have a slot for Midro SD Cards. The picture below is a Safaricom 3G modem (Huawei e173) but the principle is the same wth all 3G Modems with SD card slot.
You insert the Micro SD Card in the modems card slot and next time you connect the modem to your laptop you will see your Card and can copy content from the laptop to the card. You can buy Micro SD cards here if you don't already have a card. It is that easy and most important it is free.
Your IT-Depot Tablet comes with Android Market preinstalled but to get access to all the applications you have to register. It is free and easy.
Click on the Android Market Icon and follow the instructions. If you do not have a Gmail account you will need to open one but again this is easy and free.
After you have registered use some time to see what Apps are available. A good idea is to go to the top free Apps. You touch <top paid> in the right corner first and then <top free>. (Android would like you to pay!). Some of the must have applications are:
